My aunt visited us this summer. My aunt is the type of person who often misplaces her valuable belongings. She could have the item right in front of her eyes, and would search for it somewhere else. She was actually looking for her glasses at the time and had them on all the time.
Although I am having fun with my aunt, the truth is that all of us have lost or damaged valuables at some point. It is frustrating that we often look for them in the wrong places, only to find them later hours or days later in the most obvious place. We would be so grateful if there was a way to alert the owner or to use it as a signal to locate your car in a crowded parking lot. It would be awesome, right?
Technology is already there. The TrackR Bravo App and Device. The TrackR Bravo Device and App were discovered by me while I was browsing a technology blog. I decided to buy one. It's a small device that is handy. Here's a quick review of TrackR Bravo.
What is TrackR Bravo?
The TrackR Bravo measures approximately 31mm in size and can be attached to valuables. The TrackR Bravo works with your smartphone's Bluetooth technology to track all your devices within a 100-foot radius. According to the company, the device can run for up to one year on a CR1620 lithium battery. The battery life is not something I can comment on as I haven’t had the device for that long.
You're likely to have heard of the "find my iPhone!" feature if you own an iPhone. TrackR Bravo works in the exact same way, but you can track almost anything with it.
The device comes in four colors: standard silver, rose, gold and black. You also get a waterproof case, a metal carabiner, and a pet collar attachment. You can attach the device to almost anything, and track your pet's movements.
How does the device work?
When you receive your TrackR Bro tracking device, the first thing you should do is download the TrackR app from iTunes or Google Play. The app will then be paired with the TrackR Bro tracking device.
Next, attach the device directly to valuables or other items you frequently lose. These items include your wallet, keys to your car, and even your bike. You can attach the device anywhere you don't think anyone would be able.
The app has a map that shows you where you are relative to your items. You can press a button and the app will ring the item, so you can find it easily. TrackR App uses crowd GPS to locate your items in cases where they are not within Bluetooth range.
Is The TrackR Bravo Tracking Device Effective?
Overall, I give the device a rating of 7.5/10. It doesn't score a 10 because it has a short bluetooth range and the ringer could have been more louder.
This device is very useful and should be in every household, especially for mothers who have young children.
